Introduction

Welcome to the website of Auckland University Fencing, a fencing sports club based around, but not limited to, students of Auckland University.

Use the Navigation bar at top-right to move through the site. Information about the club's activities can be found in the Info for Beginners and Info for Fencers sections. Details on how to contact and find the club can be found on the contact page. Questions can be also be asked on our forum which is checked regularly by many of our members.

Finally, we have an email list on which is sent club news and information on activities and tournaments.

News

Fencing Holiday

There is currently no fencing at club as we enter study break and mid semester break. Semester Two commences on Monday 20 July, and the executive are negotiating with the rec centre for when we can re-begin fencing. Keep on eye on here for updates.

Club T Shirt

After three years hiatus, a great new club t-shirt is available. Images and discussion are on the forum, or you can view the front and back here.

T-shirts costs $20 each, and are available in standard sizes. So order now by contacting Ben before July 4th.

Other Events

While we currently have a fencing holiday, there is no shortage of social events on - parties, LAN events, laser strike, more parties ...

The Joy of Fees

Fees for 2009 have been confirmed at $120 for students and $200 for wage-earners. Special rates are available for those who were part of the beginners course.

Want to Learn Fencing?

Our next Beginners Course will be held around the start of university semester two (20 July), and will run for four sessions. We are awaiting confirmation of exact dates from the rec centre

Enrolments are handled by the Rec centre, and numbers are limited, so ensure you sign up early once dates are confirmed!

Tournaments for 2009

The tournament season for 2009 is underway! Competitions are a great way to learn a few more things, and to make friends across the fencing fraternity.

Coaching

AUF is forutnate to have Andrew Imms as our club coach. He is available for coaching for all who have paid their fees, with recent graduates also able to get coaching from other experienced seniors.

Where We Fence

On Mondays, we fence on the main gym floor of the recreation centre.

Thursdays see us fencing in the dance studio, on the first floor of the recreation centre.
